Donald Trump Calls LaVar Ball A 'Poor Man's Version Of Don King'

He never faces consequences

President Donald Trump escalated his feud with NBA personality LaVar Ball in a pair of tweets Wednesday, calling Ball an "ungrateful fool" and taking full credit for getting Ball's son and two of his UCLA basketball teammates back to the US after the trio was accused of shoplifting in China. He also suggested that they "give a big Thank You to President Xi Jinping of China". According to the media, Trump spoke to the Chinese president and secured the three UCLA players' early release to fly back to Los Angeles. He responded to a Washington Post story Tuesday that said NFL owners, seeking to avoid high-visibility protests, might consider a return to a previous policy of having players stay in the locker rooms while the national anthem is played before games.

Enter LaVar Ball, who was asked ESPN about Trump's role in securing his son's release.

"Too bad! LaVar is just a poor man's version of Don King, but without the hair", he said.

"You know where my boy is at right now because of me", Ball said in an interview with CNN Monday evening, adding, "Don't come in one time and think you did something for my son".

Since his son's release, Ball has refused to thank President Trump.

Trump's pre-dawn tweets on Wednesday appeared to be in response to Ball's freaky 23-minute interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo on Monday night. "What was he over there for?"

The very next day, LaVar Ball made an appearance on CNN. Don't tell me nothing. "Everybody wants to make it seem like he helped me out", Ball said.

"Did he help the boys get out?"

However, none of this has anything to do with LeVar Burton, the former "Reading Rainbow" host who simply happens to share a first name with Ball.

He added: "If I feel nobody did anything, I don't have to go around saying thank you to everybody".

LiAngelo Ball, Riley and Hill landed in Los Angeles on November 14 and addressed the media the next day before being indefinitely suspended by the team. "If Hillary got my kid out of prison, as much as I hate the woman, I'd thank her corrupt ass". All three players have been suspended indefinitely from the UCLA basketball team.
