Huge Splatoon 2 content drop coming later this week

Imagens Analise Splatoon 2

New Splatoon 2 content is coming to the Nintendo Switch right in time for the holiday season.

It begins on November 23 when the developer will release new weapons, gear, and hairstyles. A new battle stage will hit Splatoon 2 each week beginning this Friday.

The upcoming updates are completely free to Splatoon 2 owners.

The four new battle stages will be doled out over time, with the first map: MakoMart, launching 25 November, and the other three (named "Shellendorf Institute", "Walleye Warehouse" and "Arowana Mall") will become available over time. You'll be able to play on the new MakoMart stage, which will enter the map rotation on Saturday.

Those familiar with the original Splatoon will recognize the last two on the list as returning areas. Additionally, the Salmon Run gamemode will be getting a new map called "Salmonid Smokeyard". This is a beachfront stage containing elevated platforms and fan lifts that can launch Inklings across the stage quickly.

There is additional content coming to Splatoon 2 that hasn't been dated yet.

Clothing, music, and style have always played a pivotal role in the world of Splatoon, and these new updates will see dozens of new stylistic options coming to the game.

A new photo mode is being implemented into the game too.

If you've maxed out your level at 50, you will be happy to hear Nintendo is increasing the level cap to 99. Nothing else is known about the second update thus far.

".Also, new routes have been added to the mall as well".

The best and biggest addition to these Splatoon 2 free updates is the ability to swap gear in the lobby. After downloading the update, gear can be swapped out without leaving the match room, making it quicker to get back to splatting. During Regular Battle, Ranked Battle and Splatfest Battle, players can simply change their equipped gear. Nintendo describes it as a mode where you collect clams around the stage, which then start following you around. Players can pick them up (the clam follows them when nearby) and throw them into the opponent's basket to score points. The first team to slam dunk 100 clams wins in this sports-like mode. When players collect 10 clams, they will receive a Power Clam which can destroy those barriers. These super-powered clams are the key to breaking the barrier, so strategy will definitely be involved in which clams are used to destroy the barrier and which are used to earn points. This content is free for folks who already own the game, which is available on the Nintendo Switch for $60. Tell us what you think below.
