Andrew Garfield Needs to Be in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

For the first time on the big-screen, fan favorite comic book character Miles Morales is taking on the Spider-Man mantle, and now the first trailer for his film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, shows him in action. One of those happens to be Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), a very different Spider-Man then we are used to seeing. The short trailer gives viewers a peek behind that mask.

While it was initially thought that the movie would be titled "Animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse", Christopher Miller, producer of the movie along with Phil Lord, revealed on Twitter that it will simply be titled "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse". In fact, Miles runs into what seems to be another Spider-Man and asks, "So how many of us are there?" as a spider dangles in the foreground.

The trailer of "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" opens with a scene featuring the buildings of NY.

Also known for known for directing and writing the animated film Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, the duo have brought their unique talents to a fresh cinematic vision of the Spider-Man story.

We'll have to wait awhile to find out: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will swing into theaters Christmas 2018. This is an experienced Peter Parker who's more masterful at fighting big crime in New York City. Are you excited to see a new take on the Spiderman mythos?

Seen above, this is a wild and unexpected first look at Into the Spider-Verse.

Morales is also black and Latino, adding to Marvel's diverse character roster and elevating the discussion on race within the Universe.
