Johnny and Daniel face off again in first 'Cobra Kai' teaser

Ralph Macchio and William Zabka's Daniel and Johnny come face to face — again

Three decades after The Karate Kid, original stars Ralph Macchio and William Zabka return to the dojo in the 10-episode straight-to-series follow-up for subscription service YouTube Red.

There are even the beginnings of an epic showdown as Johnny and Daniel step onto the mat (in street clothes).

Cobra Kai is expected to premiere on YouTube Red sometime later this year. In the clip, Johnny is looking to bring old and new life into his old stomping grounds dojo Cobra Kai. The teaser does reveal that Daniel and Johnny are far from friends after all these years. They met again on screen two years later with The Karate Kid Part II, and now Johnny is seeking redemption. We also see memories of the past, including newspaper clippings of LaRusso's stunning upset in the All-Valley Karate Tournament, Lawrence on a Cobra Kai flyer encouraging sign-ups, and young men and women undergoing karate training. With Mr. Miyagi's life lessons, Daniel has found personal success in his own family and career as a auto dealer. And we just have to ask which are you, Team Daniel or Team Johnny?

Xolo Maridueña is Miguel Diaz, who "struggles with bullies at his new school, until he's taken under the wing of a Cobra Kai karate master". Josh Heald (Hot Tub Time Machine) and Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg (Harold and Kumar) will write and executive produce Cobra Kai.

We also learn that Daniel's wife and business partner Amanda is being played by Courtney Henggler, while Mary Mouser plays their spitfire daughter, so you can bet they'll have a say in Daniel, now a successful auto dealer, getting back into the fighting game. Playing Daniel's wife and business partner Amanda is Courtney Henggeler ("Mom"), while Mary Mouser ("Freakish") plays the couple's daughter Samantha. "It's next generation Karate Kid".
