Disclosures show Kushner's wealth and debt have risen

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner arrive for a ceremony on the South Lawn of the White House

Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, both senior advisers to President Donald Trump, disclosed new details of their vast wealth on Monday, reporting a long of list of real estate, fashion and investment assets.

Ivanka Trump made $3.9 million from her investment in her father's hotel in Washington a year ago, according to a disclosure released by the White House on Tuesday.

President Trump's daughter and son-in-law have continued to invest heavily and trade in real estate.

Critics say that the many investments and transactions of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner raise serious concerns about conflicts of interest.

Ivanka Trump earned at least $82 million in income in 2017, according to the documents.

While this is an increase from the total value of assets between $206 and $760 million the two reported in the last disclosure form, it's hard to make a direct comparison because the latest filing covers a shorter period of time, between January 2017 through December 2017, whereas the last report covers January 2016 through April 2017.

Trump reportedly donated the proceeds from the book to the Ivanka M. Trump Charitable Fund.

While both Kushner and Ivanka Trump were required to file financial forms a year ago, it is hard to compare their past to present wealth because there are several months of overlap in the reporting period and the Office of Government Ethics uses broad ranges to calculate assets and liabilities. The White House had released the president's own financial report last month.

In 2017, Trump's assets were estimated to be valued between $55.3 million and $75.6 million and Kushner's between $179 million and $735 million, reported the Washington Post.

A spokesman for the couple said Monday that the couple's disclosure portrayed both assets and debts that have not changed much over the past year - and stressed that Kushner and Ivanka Trump have both complied with all federal ethics rules.

In addition to her family-related businesses, Trump earned $289,300 as an advance from Penguin Random House for her book, "Women Who Work".

The Trump family has faced accusations of using the presidency for personal profit. Kushner got a $5 million chunk from a Kushner Companies apartment complex. The president's son-in-law closed out a line of credit from Valley National Bank that had between $5 million and $25 million in debt previous year.

"Since joining the administration, Mr. Kushner and Ms. Trump have complied with the rules and restrictions as set out by the Office of Government Ethics", he said.
