Woman calls police on little girl selling water outside apartment building

The original tweet as the camera rolls the woman ducks down behind a wall but continues to call cops

An eight-year-old girl who was to be arrested for hawking bottled water has had her story turned around, as she eventually got free tickets to her dream land, Disney World.

The video shows the mom confronting the woman while she's on the phone.

Austin's daughter says she does plan to keep on selling water.

Ettel claimed she asked a security guard to check out the situation because she became rattled with the girl and mother yelling outside of the building where she worked. Sitting inside her home trying to work, Ettel said, she lost her temper.

In one television interview, the eight-year-old girl, identified as Jordan, said: "I did not want to see the police, because I was scared".

On Monday, she sought to pour cold water on reports that her rant was racially motivated - saying she called the cops only to find out if it was legal to sell water without a permit.

Jordan was selling the water bottles outside the family's apartment building, which is across the street from AT&T Stadium, where the Giants were playing that day, Austin said.

"This woman don't want a little girl selling sell some water". It's unclear whether she's speaking to the cops or to Austin. She was filmed calling the police on an African American family who was barbequing at a nearby lake. She bestowed the nickname "Permit Patty" on the woman and compared her to "BBQ Becky" and Internet users did the rest.

"They were screaming about what they were selling", she said.

In the viral video, the girl's older cousin can be seen following Ettel, who was walking away while talking on the phone.

"So my little cousin was selling water and didn't have a permit so this lady made a decision to call the cops on an 8-year-old", the caption on the Twitter video says, ending with the hashtag #PermitPatty.

Under the Twitter hashtag #PermitPatty, the video has been viewed more than 4.5 million times. "Whether she's black, brown, orange, yellow, purple", Austin told Inside Edition. Robert Ruecam, a spokesman for the San Francisco Police Department, told NBC News they did not receive a complaint about Rogers and Austin selling water.

"I had been putting up with this for hours, and I just snapped", Ettel said.

"Yeah, um, illegally selling water without a permit?" It was completely stress-related, and I should have never confronted her.

A crying Ettel was on the Today Show Monday where she said that it wasn't about race and that she's received "All kinds of threats..."Horrible, awful images, and death threats".

Magnolia Oakland, a dispensary that carries TreatWell's products, said in a statement that it had dropped the company's products in response to the video.

She said that she didn't close the windows of her office because it was too hot and that it wouldn't have stopped the noise.
