Trump should disclose details of conversation with Putin, - ex-head of Central Intelligence Agency

The top USA intelligence official said on Saturday that he meant no disrespect to President Donald Trump in an interview discussing the summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin. "There is simply no other way to explain why he would side with this Kremlin, former KGB officer, rather than his own intelligence agencies".

Mr Trump has drawn strong criticism from both Republicans and Democrats over his initial reluctance to blame Russian Federation for alleged meddling in the 2016 U.S. elections that he won.

On Thursday, the White House announced the two leaders would meet again in the fall in Washington, around the time of the congressional midterm elections the USA intelligence community says Russian Federation is trying to meddle in.

It remains to be seen if Trump will take questions this week, or if press secretary Sarah Sanders will hold daily briefings. John McCain, R-Ariz., for example, called Trump's performance one of the most disgraceful by a US president in memory. At the same time, Graham shot down the suggestion that the interpreter who sat in with Trump and Russia's Vladimir Putin should appear before Congress.

Baier pointed out that Trump had extended an invitation for Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit Washington, D.C. before informing Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats.

Mystification over Trump's invitation to the Russian leader is compounded by the astounding prospect that the meeting with Putin will be in Washington in the fall, around the time of midterm elections, which United States intelligence agencies say are already being targeted by Russia.

Trump and Putin met in Helsinki on Monday during a summit that led to multiple walk-backs by the White House in the days following.

"If he does show up, you need to have new sanctions over Putin's head", said Graham, urging a set of sanctions that "would be a hammer over Russia's head" for interfering in the USA electoral process.

He said: "I have full faith and support for America's great intelligence agencies, I always have".

Before his Aspen Security Forum appearance, Coats was already portrayed as a voice of dissent in the Trump administration by the mainstream media for seemingly standing up to Trump in the wake of the Helsinki summit, which Trump's opponents dubbed "disastrous" and "nothing short of treason". Coats asked Mitchell to repeat herself and then broke into laughter before saying, "OK, that's going to be special".

The findings indicate that while Trump was judged critically for his summit performance, the event has not yet proved to be a significant turning point in his presidency.

"I am concerned about any time you ... say at a press conference that you agree with Putin over our intelligence community". It could be some other power, not just Russian Federation. "He thinks the way to make Russian Federation stronger is to weaken America and as long as we're clear about it, I think it's important that the nations speak to one another and that our leaders speak to one another".

Graham continued: "What I do expect is for the administration and the president, eventually, to tell us were any agreements reached".

Asked whether he agreed with that statement, Barletta's campaign said "Russia is clearly an adversary of the United States".

While Spicer is correct that most Republican voters across the country approve of Trumps handling of the summit in Finland with Putin, recent polling shows that half of Americans do not.

"The possibility of a civil war in Nicaragua is real", Rubio said.
