The First Trailer For ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’ Has Dropped

X-Men Spotted Filming Movie In Montreal featured image

The official X-Men Twitter account just posted a new tease for the film, which you can take a look at down below.

The team head to outer space, where they're hit with a solar flare that unleashes an unrelenting, power-mad force within Jean Grey - who is played by Sophie Turner.

Dark Phoenix arrives in theaters on February 14.

Luckily, he had clear idea in mind: to fix the mistakes made with X-Men: The Last Stand. Next week, Venom arrives in theaters starring Tom Hardy and an alien symbiote, Brie Larson will be defending the Earth from Skrull's in Captain Marvel, and even the X-Men will be fighting an invasion of their own in Dark Phoenix, presumably led by Jessica Chastain's character.

The film's first trailer debuts Wednesday during "The Late Late Show". The fourth chapter of the saga featuring younger versions of the original characters - and the twelfth overall in the X-Men franchise - picks up almost a decade after the last chapter, X-Men: Apocalypse, and is an adaptation of "The Dark Phoenix Saga", the famous comic book arc where Jean Grey (Turner) develops a more confident, powerful and antagonistic personality. "I feel like this movie is a revelation because of it being like a drama but the hero is a female and she's also the villain", she told EW.

Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), James McAvoy (a now-bald Professor Xavier), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), and Evan Peters (Quicksilver) also return for Dark Phoenix.

Jean Grey, played by Sophie Turner can be seen standing in a silhouette form in front of a galaxy-filled sky with a faint "X" behind her.

Interestingly, Magneto had nothing to do with the original - and groundbreaking - "The Dark Phoenix Saga" comic book storyline and the nature of his involvement in this latest attempt by the movie franchise to adapt it remains a mystery. "They never seem to age?"
