Khashoggi was strangled and dismembered, Turkish chief prosecutor says

Crown Prince meets American Evangelical delegation

Khashoggi vanished after entering the consulate in Istanbul to pick up paperwork for his upcoming marriage to his Cengiz, who was waiting for him outside.

"In this context, he pointed out that the Turkish prosecution did not obtain any answers from the Saudi Attorney-General despite the submission of written questions about Khashoggi's death".

"According to the latest information we have, the reason they dismembered his body is to dissolve it easier", he said.

"We now see that it wasn't just cut up, they got rid of the body by dissolving it", Yasin Aktay, an official in Turkey's ruling party, told the Hurriyet newspaper in a story published on Friday.

The claim echoed details a Turkish official had earlier given to the Washington Post - for which Khashoggi was a contributor - that authorities were investigating a theory the body was destroyed in acid.

USA officials have said such a mission, which included sending 15 men from Riyadh, could not have been carried out without the authorization of bin Salman, the country's de facto ruler.

"Khashoggi's body was not in need of burying", the official told the U.S. newspaper on the condition of anonymity.

"The victim's body was dismembered and destroyed following his death by suffocation", the statement said. Of all nations, the United States should be leading the way.

"With this tragedy, the Trump administration has taken a position that is devoid of moral foundation", she wrote.

"As responsible members of the worldwide community, we must reveal the identities of the puppetmasters behind Khashoggi's killing", he wrote.

The death of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in his country's consulate has become universal, and no one can cover it up or escape responsibility, said Turkish Justice Minister Abdulhamit Gul on Thursday.

Saudi Arabia has denied the comments were made or that its royal family was involved in the killing, and says it is "determined to find out all the facts".

Turkey is seeking the extradition of 18 suspects detained in Saudi Arabia over the journalist's slaying.

The media also got the information that Hashagg meant to disclose information about the use by Saudi Arabia of chemical weapons in Yemen, and Britain knew about the planned conspiracy against a journalist a few weeks before the murder.

On Saturday at the Turkish Airlines Open, European Tour chief executive Keith Pelley was asked if he had any concerns about the new Saudi event as backlash to the apparent murder grew.

Riyadh has maintained that neither King Salman nor Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman knew of the operation to target Khashoggi.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the 33-year-old heir to the most powerful throne in the Middle East, won worldwide plaudits for his drive to remake the conservative petrostate while he amassed power to a degree unseen by previous rulers.

"The UK needs to completely re-appraise its relationship with Saudi Arabia, moving on from its failed softly-softly "engagement" approach to one where ministers raise human rights openly and frankly with their counterparts in Riyadh. This is the smallest thing that one can do after a loved one has passed in the religion of Islam".
